About the society "Friend club of Banitis"

The society, called in Latvian "Banisa Draugu klubs", was founded on 17th September 2011 and having been officially registered (No. 40008187520) is established as an official body with legal status, thus providing a focus for volunteer activities. Its aims are to further the work already carried out by volunteers in preserving the narrow gauge railway.
The board of the society as of January 2012 consists of the chairman of the board - Davis Buss and two other board members - Ivars Boiko and Sergejs Tretjakovs.

The aims of the society, as declared in the Statutes, are:

• To preserve the Gulbene - Aluksne narrow gauge railway as a heritage railway and as part of the history of Latvian railways.
• To research the history and traditions of railway transport, to support preservation of industrial heritage and monuments of railway history.
• To raise interest of the public and especially young people in railways, thus giving them opportunities to take part in railway operations.

We invite new members, and members of the former "Friends club of Banitis", to complete the membership application form to join the society.

Joining the society "Friends club of Banitis"

If you want to take part in our activities and to support the development of Gulbene - Aluksne narrow gauge railway as a heritage railway, then you are advised to join the Friends club!

To join please complete the membership application form and write a letter describing your intentions, explaining why you want to join the society, sign it and send it to our address:

Application fee - LVL 3; to be paid within one month of your application being accepted.
Membership fee - LVL 2 per month; to be paid once a year, for a full year expiring on 30th of November. Membership fee can be paid in instalments provided that that full year fee is paid by not later than 30th of November.
Fees can be paid in cash or by a bank transfer to the society account - please contact the coordinator of the society Mrs. Marina Delikatnaja - Busa.
Those taking part in volunteering weekends and other activities are entitled to reductions in the fees payable

Monthly volunteer weekends

The Society "Friends club of Banitis" invites all those interested to take part in our monthly volunteer weekends!
Members of Friend club receive information by e-mail on dates of monthly voluntary weekends. Further information is available in - forums.banitis.lv.
