The Vidzeme Banitis or Gulbene - Alūksne railway is the last
operational narrow gauge railway in the Baltics.
The small railway with regular passenger traffic between two
district centres has become a much loved tourist destination,
attracting visitors on account of its historical
rolling-stock and infrastructure, as well as its heritage
